چکیده
Received January 2007 Accepted July 2007 INTRODUCTION Percutaneous kidney biopsy is most frequently performed under the guidance of ultrasounography or computed tomography (CT).(1) In some patients, however, other options for kidney biopsy should be resorted to in order to obtain an adequate specimen. We hereby describe the technique of fluoroscopy-guided percutaneous needle biopsy of the kidney after retrograde contrast injection through a ureteral catheter in patients with previously failed ultrasonography-guided percutaneous needle biopsy of the kidney.

Laparoscopic Assisted ultrasound guided Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in Ectopic Pelvic Kidney
We report a patient with pain, abdominal palpable mass and a history of previous open renal stone surgery. Imaging studies showed a right pelvic kidney with multiple calyceal stones. We describe the successful management through laparoscopic assisted percutaneous nephrolithotomy with ultrasonography (PCNL) in ectopic pelvic kidney, stressing that this method is a minimally invasive therapeutic...

Abstract Background Computed tomography (CT)-guided biopsy of the lung is a well-established method of diagnosis. The aim of this study was to determine the success rate of fluoroscopic CT (FCT) and conventional CT (CCT) in needle navigation biopsies from the lung lesions. Materials and Methods A total of 78 patients were prospectively enrolled to receive CT-guided biopsy with (group I, n=2...

Laparoscopic-assisted percutaneous extraperitoneal closure (LAPEC) for inguinal hernia repair in children, is one of the most simple and reliable methods. The present study aimed to assess the safety and feasibility of the LAPEC of inguinal hernia in children. From Januar...
متن کاملRenal Biopsy in the Pediatric Patient
Renal biopsy in children can be performed either by percutaneous, laparoscopic, or open surgical approaches. As reported in a recent large pediatric series (Hussain et al., 2010), the percutaneous approach is by far the most commonly utilized, with the open approach typically reserved for situations in which percutaneous biopsy may be relatively contraindicated or there is the need for a large ...
متن کاملRenal biopsy for medical renal disease: indications and contraindications.
INTRODUCTION Percutaneous renal biopsy (PRB) is a safe and effective modality for sampling kidney tissue. In limited circumstances, alternative methods for kidney biopsy may be indicated. Historical contraindications for PRB such as bleeding diathesis, morbid obesity and solitary kidney have been called into question in the literature. We present a review of the literature on PRB and the risks ...
